This is an enjoyable end-of-the-world zombie-esque outbreak book. Its full of action and suspense. The "zombies" are actually mutated humans which is rather fun as they are more dangerous than the usual shambling reanimated corpse.

It switches between the views of the two main characters one a doctor and the other a military person who's in the thick of it. I really liked the pace of the book, there's plenty of action moments but also adds the (usually) slower pace of the doctors view on the outbreak from the lab.

I'm sure there are plenty of issues with the science which is mentioned in this however as I am not an expert in anyway this didn't bother me much.

The romance between characters does feel slightly forced and unnecessary to me. Just felt like the author thought ah the main characters are male and female they must end up attracted to each other. I think the mutual trust and worry for each other well was nice but didnt need to progress from there necessarily.

I'd recommend this book as an enjoyable zombie/end-the-world easy read.
