Cheesy mediocre zombie story. Enough said.
Also, I can tell this was written around when Ebola was a big scare.

this is my second time reading this serious and the first book is a tiny bit slow but it's so much fun I will finish this series this year!

I did not enjoy this book. It was much too graphic, bloody, zombie's eating people for me.

This was fast paced, fun, full of action. Not a lot of character development, but I suspect that will change in the coming books. Loved it!

I gave this 2 stars instead of 3 stars because of the looming romance that starts in second act (but was blatantly telegraphed in the first few chapters), wrapped in yet another wacky engineered virus spells doom for human race (excepting the plucky ones and the sexy, single female characters). FFS, how BIG is the market for zombie apocalypse romance??!!
What really soured me was the illogical use of a SpecFor team in a urban war zone that contains hundreds of thousands of enemy combatants. There was little intelligence gathering, sniping is laughably inefficient, and every engagement (predictably) turns into a complete rout and mad dash for safety. It gets ridiculous after their evac leaves them in a war zone for the third time. Completely manufactured for maximum book thrillz and hard to swallow. There is much better out there, trust me.
