Note : not safe
Not celibate during seperation of 9 years which is understandable since she left him with no explanation BUT my issues is the ruining of the " always been you" trope and " i waited for you and never stopped loving you " BS except that he did not wait at all and fully moved on with ow.
IT'S FINE IF HE MOVED ON then fell in love with fmc again, just don't write smth that's not there ffs
Mmc has a gf that he was planning to marry when the fmc reappears that he totally ghosts / emotionally cheats on her with the fmc
Another snoozfest of it's always been you and you are the love of my life except i moved on and i was ready to settle down before you showed up
Im afraid this author is always a miss
I haven't reached this part because i DNFed but more than one review said that after they have sex for the first time he comments on how her boobs aren't as " perky " as they used to

I loved the last two so much! This was not on the same level though. Disappointing!
I picked this up because I was still reeling from August Lane and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a solid read with solid writing. I thought it was cool that she was a professional soccer player (although it felt a little flimsy) and I liked the conflict (twist) that made her leave town originally. I would’ve liked to see more on screen page time with her younger brother, I think it would’ve added more emotional depth and humor to the story but otherwise a wholesome small town slow burn romance.
quick, enjoyable, easy read. Nothing out of this world about it, but there wasn't anything I disliked either. So 3/5. Second chance love stories are not something I gravitate towards, but I liked the switch up! Will be reading another one of her books.

A fine second chance story but it just felt very quick and under developed. The plot didn’t make a lot of sense (the reason she left the town in the first place is ridiculous) and it felt like everyone immediately forgot all of the past to move forward.
