love the author, didn’t love this story. it was had too many holes. would i leave a boy i loved when i found out my uncle was actually my father and never return until 9 years later? i don’t know. the build up to the second chance was too much. the last five chapters is when they actually are together.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I am a sucker for second chance romances and men who are desperately in love with their woman - this had both.
The love Bennett and Emma had for each other was beautiful. The way their relationship ended the first time made for some great angst.
The twist about Emma (why she left town) wasn’t too surprising. It was alluded on a few occasions that this may have been the secret, so I don’t think it was supposed to be a huge revelation - at least for the reader - which is why I’m not too upset about it being predictable.
I appreciate Pete being a good friend to Bennett and telling him at the end that maybe he should not get back with Emma. Usually you see the friends being all about the relationship, so it was nice to have someone thinking with their head and looking out for their friend.
I didn’t mind the situation with Heather. I think it helped prove to Bennett that there was a reason he always held back. Something wouldn’t let him give himself fully to her and Emma coming back to town showed him why that was. I think Heather was a great sport about everything, but it was weird she moved on quickly.

Este libro me ha gustando mucho, aunque no es de los mejores de la autora. Aun así, es una novela cortita, súper adictiva que te engancha desde el primer momento. EMMA y CADEN me han gustado mucho, desde el instante en el que se vuelven a ver se siente la tensión en el aire. Si que es verdad que al tratarse de un second chance me hubiera gustado que hubiesen algunos capítulos del pasado para poder conocerlos a ellos de adolescente. He tenido la sensación de que no he llegado a conocerlos del todo ni el tipo de relación que tenían. Con Emma tengo una especie de amor-odio porque no he llegado a empatizar con ella. Creo que es bastante egoísta y no entiendo como pudo hacer lo que hizo. Caden me ha gustado mucho porque siempre ha tenido las cosas claras y la verdad que es un cielo con Emma. El final me ha gustado muchísimo, aunque creo que las cosas se solucionan bastante rápido!
