A Night of Wings and Starlight by Alexis L. Menard
“Because for the first time since I was created, I care not for the world, only for the woman who is my world.”

Picked up the second series from my girl Alexis. I absolutely adored this from cover to cover. The banter, adventure, the BETRAYAL! Oh I ate this book up! Detailing was great, saw the entries book in my head. Now to dive into book 2!

I LOVED the premise of this book, but something about it did not hold my attention.

Now with that being said,
1. Will I read the sequel?100%
2. Will I recommend this book to others? 100%
3. Was I in a reading slump? 100%
4. Did I read Alexis arc for her next book and get out of said reading slump? 1000000000%

This is a fun and fresh new fantasy, it gave me ACOTAR meets The Mazer Runner vibes!

This book ended with no cliffhanger but also definitely has me wanting to know more for book 2!

My least favorite trope is Insta love and I was so bummed when that happened in this book! I think that was my main frustration while reading was how rushed everything felt. From the love story, to the main journey, and even how quickly the main character switched sides. I found myself just trying to play catch up a number of times throughout the book.
However, the plot was really interesting and the characters were so funny and likable. I found myself laughing out loud a number of times and I really enjoyed the authors writing style. So overall I think this was more of a 3.5 star review.

Thank you to the author, Alexis, for giving me an ARC! I’m so excited to see what else you come out with!

Thank you to the publishers for this eARC of A Night of Wings and Starlight

I had read lots of positives feedback and I thought to myself - I need to read this book.
I wasn't disappointed! I could not put this down! I finished it overnight!

A Night of Wings and Starlight pleasantly surprised me, I thought it was just a romance story but boy was I wrong!
This is more than a romance, it's filled with adventure, betrayal, horror (not in the spooky sense, but in the horrific sense) and of course love.
Arya's character was strong and brave
Her upbringing made her more determine to succeed and right the wrongs. I loved her determination and convictions. She knew how to stand for what she wanted.
Azriel was just perfect and I loved his banter with Arya. I was shocked by some of the events and had a mixture of shock and relief by the outcome.

Alexis L Menard built this world perfectly, she brought all of her characters to life and created a unique and perfect story.
This is a fantastic debut and I can't wait to read more of her stories.
