"...I am still guided by the vivid apprehension that came to me on that frozen glacier: Even here, even as we suffer, life is still worth living. We are humans. We all suffer. We all one day face our own personal Andes. And in the end, we all die. The only way to make sense of those difficult truths is to love. Love is our guide and our protection. It is the only true form of survival. That simple, strengthening wisdom is the gift the mountains gave me. That is the true miracle of the Andes."
Content: death, some gore, swearing, descriptions of eating human flesh
Graphic: Death and Gore
Moderate: Cursing

It gets a bit slow following the rescue - a fair bit seems unrelated to the story and the message as a whole. But still a gripping and worthwhile read.
