I really wanted to like this one. It sounded so good, but unfortunately for me, it didn't hit the spot.
For starters, there was the whole 'men writing female characters' shit going on. The main character apparently had a curvy, enviable body, a heaving chest, heavy breasts, and at one point, she was worried about a killer stalking her well-sculpted ass. There was a lot more, but I would be here all day listing them, not good when you realise the book is only a short novella (less than 100 pages).
On top of that, the story was not great. It started off with promise; Woman walks home alone, gets hit on the head and raped in her apartment while she's unconscious. Then a few days later, she realises the guy is still watching her. So what does she do? Goes on a little trip to Liverpool, sleeps with the first guy she comes across, falls desperately in love, and the pair start talking about her packing up her life to move closer to him. All completely normal behaviour after you've just been raped and stalked by a stranger, right? 🤦🏼‍♀️
I'm not going to lie, I wanted to give up on this one. But I figured it wasn't that long, and maybe there would be something to redeem it towards the end. But there wasn't.

As always, this is just my personal opinion. If this sounds like something you would read, don't let my thoughts put you off as you may like it.
