This book was decent, with some unexpected twists. I liked some parts, but didn’t like others. Near the end, I was just trying to get through it. Wouldn’t read again.

I know this book has a huge following, and I wanted to like it. Knew it was a retelling of the book of Hosea and was prepared for religious references, but it was just too much for me. Didn’t like the way Michael Hosea kept renaming Angel. He just came across as weird and needy to me the entire time.

A Christian allegory on the book of Hosea (and other parts of the Bible) about God's love for us. The book addresses the tough issues of child abuse and the sex industry.
I only wish someone would bring me home every time I ran away... This book is so inspiring to a broken heart in need of God's love. He always works in the most subtle of ways and won't let you know how He does it. Very frustrating, but patience always pays off with Him. As seen in this book and the relationship between Angel and Michael Hosea. God lets us know that all sinners of every kind still deserve someone who loves them and can lead them to a personal relationship with God.
A little difficult to get through the first chapter, and a few parts here and there, but the basis of the story is worth it!

Did maybe cry. Taught me about real love, God's love and guidance, and hope. Renewed my hope for the future a bit I guess.
