If I could give this book 10 stars, I would!! What an amazing story of redemption! I love how the author based the novel on Hosea’s story from the Bible and wrote bringing the story to life in a new way. It makes me want to study Hosea more now. Beautifully written, heartbreaking but also filled with hope, this book is definitely on my top 5 favorite books now!
Update: It was indeed a difficult read and not my preferred genre, but I did enjoy it. The story is compelling (if a bit over dramatic at times) but it captured my interest both from a plot/character perspective as well as a spiritual one.

I must admit, I've never read a romance novel before, I'm on the fence regarding historical fiction, and there is very little Christian fiction that I like so this isn't something I would've picked up on my own. But Josh's mom gave this to me for Christmas (and a few friends have also recommended it) so I'm reading it. Started it last night and so far it's holding my interest quite well.

Simply put, I love this book. A very heart-warming and moving story about redemption. It has such a great message and is in general a wonderful story. While it's very different from what i normally read, i still found it to be an amazing book. This should be a staple read for anyone who reads inspirational fiction. This being my second time reading and i found it to be just as good as the first time.

Now that I have dealt with a lot of the baggie I carry from my purity culture upbringing, I look back on this book and must change my review. What a hot mess.
I’m probably one of the last few people to read this book, so there’s really no need for me to review it, but I will say I don’t know what took me so long to read it. What an amazing story of unconditional love and redemption! It was so emotional and hard to read at times because of the sensitive topics, but the author handled it all with such grace. This is a story that will stay with me for a long time.
This book... Sigh. I cant even describe it. If you are thinking of reading it, just read it. It is such a beautiful story. I couldn't believe when I scrolled on to the next page only to read 'Epilogue'. As in the story was over? But I wasn't ready. I don't think I ever will be. I loved every page of it. It is a 5 star from me.

I've never read a Christian novel before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The story was very intriguing and it's definitely a page-turner! I'm glad I read this with members of my small group; otherwise, I could see myself just flipping through the pages to find out what happens instead of reflecting on the story as I read it. It was a great tool for reflection and for helping to understand God and the different forces pulling on me as I live my life. I plan to read it again someday as I've heard people who have read it again and gotten different things out of it.
