I have a difficult time when it comes to Colleen Hoover, very love-hate.
I did enjoy this book though, far more then It Ends With Us, mostly cause I wasn’t blindsided this time by the dark themes in the book (which also do not seem to have any trigger warnings mentioned in the beginning- seems to be recurring problem with her books).
That being said, if you like dark, suspenseful reads with a bit of romance, this is a great book for you. One of the better books of hers that I’ve read for sure.

Pretty decent book, liked the plot twist towards the end, but the writing is somehow both convoluted and simplistic.

One of the best pieces of writing advice is to trust your audience. And while I appreciate the spoon-feeding to a certain extent, there comes a point where it’s a bit excessive.

Overall, I recommend reading it. Just not at the top of your reading list.

this book was messed up, just everything from the first line, it was incredibley scary that someone could come up with something this terrifying. the things verity did were so horrible, that i am leaning towards team manuscript. what mother could do something so horrible and justify it as a writing exercise? i have so many questions like why Crew would slice his gums with the knife? did he also slice hos chin with the knife? and why did verity even have that knife? i found it so suspicous how the letter was written acter low arrived which made it seem like she was just covering up her actions. also the manuscript must partly be true as verity clearly acted in a way towards harper that made jermey question her love and question the canoe. the goddamn accident dosent make sense either, why wouldnt she YELL TO BOTH KIDS WHO SHE SUPPOSEDLY LOVES HOLD UR BREATHE?? i do belive jermey was messed up and knew about the manuscript as he asked ‘where did you find this’ and took such short time to read his wifes disturbing actions. also there is no way in hell he could be that perfect, i think veritys glamourisation of him led lowen the belive the same. also lowen def has issues, havijg sex with a dude whos WIFE IS IN THE HOUSE? she just seemed cery pick me and was so unlikeable and unnecessary. overall all the characters were messed up but this book left me on edge but honestly didnt have a hige plot twist i kinda guessed she was gonna claim the manuscript was made up or i thought jeremey wrote it (tbh sounds more interesting) but quick read MAKE SURE TO CHECK TWS - child abuse, abortion, murder, attempted murder
