This book was sooooo good. The last few days had been busy but I was itching to pick up the book whenever I had a chance. I wanted to curl up with my phone and a Hungry Eye and just read about Everly and Jack

‼️ARC was received in exchange for honest review‼️

This is a sweet small town romance with some spicy time set in Strutt's Peak in Colorado. Jack Deacon is a famous photographer from New York who took a job in Strutt's Peak for the infamous Riggs family who are treated like royalty. Everly, our main heroine is the VP of the family company. Jack ends up having to stay in their pool house where Everly also often stays in to work on her own fashion design for the company. I love the relationship between both Everly's and Jack's family, especially Jack's relationship with his nephew. I am very curious about Jack's sister Kathryn and Jin's relationship. The only minor issue I had was that I wish there was more development or explanation about why Kathryn dislikes Everly other than she feels like Everly is taking away some of the most important people in her life. Hopefully, Kathryn will one day get her own book one day. Other than that, this was a solid debut and I'm very excited for the next book in the series. There are some characters that I'm keeping an eye out for.

Favorite scene(s): The co**kblock scene in the office and the walk-in the pool house between Everly and Jack

Favorite quote: "Only this time, we don't stop until you're screaming."

⭐️: 4/5

"She’s not a good girl at all. She wants to get dirty. And I’m happy to bathe in it with her."

First things first…I am so freaking impressed that this is Victoria Wilder’s debut novel. This story is beautifully told despite Jack’s incredibly heart wrenching past. This man is strong and resilient and loving.

This book made me want to escape to a quiet small town that also overlooks the Colorado Peaks. The small town of Strutt’s Peak is beautiful. From the description of the setting to the characters that fill this place with love…I’m in awe and not just with the Riggs family.

Everly is a strong independent business woman that will not let this hot playboy photographer get in her way. Her relationship with her three brothers is the best (and reminds me a bit of my 3 brothers) and their love and support aids in her take no shit persona.

"I want to hear you ask nicely for my forgiveness. And then I want you to beg to touch me. Beg to taste me."

Jack has a very tragic past and despite his best efforts is still a broken boy, but man, his strength is admirable. The chemistry and tension between Everly and Jack is top notch and I was eating it up!

I love the relationship that Ev has with G, her best friend and I cannot wait to get more from her! (Ps. Henry and G’s relationship is setting up a perfect enemies to lovers that can be filled with angst and tension and I want that!)

Also, if you haven’t tried to coffee recipe that is found at the end of this book you need to change that! Freaking delicious!

"Now stop talking and put that mouth to work, Jack."

Peaks of Color is a small town romance set in a tourist mountain town called Strutt's Peak. This is book one of Victoria Wilder's new series and damnit it's so good. This is such an impressive debut novel, and has so much working well. Everly Riggs is Vice President of her family's outdoor company, working alongside her father and brothers, who I think we will get stories for in subsequent books. Everly is a boss bitch with a heart of gold. She's talented, and described as a force of nature. Jack is a photographer hired to help with some branding and he and Everly have a spark of attraction right away. As they slowly give into their attraction and develop feelings, complications arise and we get brilliant tension and believable conflict. This book is full of tropes: forced proximity, boss/employee, small tourist town, and a smattering of enemies to lovers...and the book offers plenty of character insight to set us up for the rest of the series. One of my favourite things about this was many of the descriptions were just poetic and really beautiful. I loved the family dynamics and how protective Everly's brothers were. If you like dirty talk and praise kink, the spice scenes will satisfy you. Victoria knew what we all wanted when she wrote this.

5 stars

CW for past child neglect, parental drug addiction, loss of parents, alcoholism...hopefully I haven't missed any.

Thanks to the author for the ARC. Peaks of Color is out July 14th

I really enjoyed reading Everly and Jack’s journey.

Everly is the Queen B of her family empire next to her father, with hopes of one day taking the reign. She works along side her 3 brothers, and they hire a photographer that needs a place to stay. Scheduling happens to land him right into Everly’s workspace in their pool house, and she has no choice but to share a space with him.

Once he walks in on her doing something VERY personal, he is hooked. There is nothing he won’t do to get to Everly.. but when Jack’s sister and his past comes back to haunt him, he has to make a choice and ultimately hurt Everly. He doesn’t know what to do, and neither does Everly.

That kitchen counter scene will live rent free in my head forever!!!
