I wanted to read this book because I recognized Mallory from the show The Amazing Race. The Amazing Race had always been one of my favorite shows, but I found myself especially drawn to the seasons she appeared in. I am not sure what made her stand out amongst some of the best teams like the Harlem Globetrotters or the cowboys. Perhaps it was her infectious personality or zest for life.

I had no idea that underneath her bubbly demeanor she was struggling with both addiction and anxiety. This book goes to show that you truly never know what a person is going through.

I found this book to be both relatable and practical. I loved hearing about Mallory’s journey of high highs and low lows. She opened up about her most vulnerable moments and biggest accomplishments.

This is a great book for someone who needs to be reminded that you only have one life to live and you should make the most of it.

Special thanks to NetGalley.com and Convergent Books for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

I so desperately wanted to love this book, as I am a huge fan of her podcast. I personally feel that the mark was missed with this memoir, as it read as a self help book.

Mallory has faced a bucket load of her own challenges, but I feel that the way she writes, she does not acknowledge the privilege she has in life. Privilege is not a fault, but I do feel that it should be discussed with the topics that she is trying to solidify. I felt the only chapter that she truly wrote with pure vulnerability and humility was the chapter about her sweet nephew. This was the one (and only) place in the book I could feel connected to the author. Otherwise, I struggled because of the life that Mallory's portrays online. Mallory writes about not getting wrapped up in the "shiny" things, but it seems that her instagram and socials show that she is drawn toward the "shiny" things.

I know that it is written in the book not to compare your life to the socials of an influencer, but if an influencer is going to write a book about not comparing, I feel that they should demonstrate that same understanding in their own life.

Overall, disappointed.

Living Fully Podcast host

she is real and raw, refreshing, honest, motivational, and so much more. she shares stories and parts of her life even her biggest fans have yet to hear. living through faith is a huge piece of her life. as a woman of faith myself, this only allowed me to connect with her story more. if you have opposing views do not let it deter you in the slightest! she in NO way forces her beliefs, attitudes, or legacy upon her readers at all throughout the book. in fact, I would even say she encourages and welcomes all audiences through her writing.

highly recommend for anyone looking to find their appreciation for life, getting the most out of it, and even those curious where to begin the process of living fully

This book is definitely more self-help than memoir. I was personally hoping for more of an even balance between the two genres based on how I heard the author promote the book as a guest on podcasts, so it was a bit of a disappointment to me. As a self-help book, it's solid but not necessarily groundbreaking.

Incredibly insightful and encouraging - really great read. Mallory’s voice on the audio book made the experience.
