Overall, I enjoyed the perspectives the book provided.

I feel like everything else I say could be taken as a positive or negative. Reflective as opposed to a page-turner. Fiction that felt like nonfiction. A suite of characters so that you were certain to relate to some and find others frustrating or boring.

Follows the lives of 5 lesbians through four decades, mostly focusing on the realities of living through a dictatorship in a conservative country. I quite liked the narrative, although I don't think the writing itself was outstanding in any way.

4 // Beautifully written historical tale of several women essentially forming a sapphic commune in a little island by Paraguay. At times it meandered, but overall ‘twas enthralling. I wish I had written down the quotable lines because there were so many and they were all so precious.
