I found the first half interesting, but it lost me in the second half. The religious themes get laid on much thicker at the end. It was fun to have Scar (Jeremy Irons) read this to me.

What a lovely way to tell a beautiful story. Loved it.

Though some complain of Coelho's prose, I liked it. His fable-like descriptions were perfect as they provided enough information without being tedious, though at times it was awkward. The problem I had was with the amount of life-lessons he squeezed into such a short book. There was just too much philosophy, to the point where I wasn't really thinking about it close to the end.
