A little boring and preachy.

I read so many negative reviews of this book, I have to agree with some of them but I would be lying if I said the "follow your dreams at all cost" theme didn't struck a chord with me.

I rarely give five stars, but this book earned it. Such a beautiful journey with spiritual depth, adventure and life lessons. Will probably read multiple times.

Ah... wish I could love this one. But I really can not. One of those books where good things happen to the good, anecdote is truth, and where survivorship bias reigns supreme. This is how the deeply successful think about their success and their life-- that the world, their collaborator, has conspired to give them exactly what they want. And I think what aggravates me most is the core thesis-- that any desire comes from the world, and the more deeply held, the better, the more good. Because I can tell you a lot of really really terrible people really really wanted to do exactly what they did. And I don't think this book provides good answers or counters to the fact that I simply do not feel like living in a world where desires are not rationally scrutinized. This book is more interested in elegant simplicity than the deliriously messy nature of the moral quality of our current existence. Nuance... is not a curse. Anyways. I'm sure someone will find in this something that really speaks to them, maybe even something which empowers them to do something wonderful. And that is great. I am very excited for this stranger, whomever they may be. But this certainly isn't for me.

A beautifully illustrated graphic novel of a classic story. It was a bit over my head towards the end, but I kept turning the pages so that's a win.
