DNF. Got halfway through before becoming too uninterested to continue. Though it wanted to be about culture clash and the perceptions of civilized vs. savage (which is a worthy topic), it mostly boiled down to the siblings insulting and fight with each other, which, while realistic, didn't exactly make me a captive audience.

It's possible it took a turn for the better in the second half, but it's a short kids' graphic novel, so I figure if the first half isn't worth it, the thing as a whole won't be regardless of any later merits.

Sorry, Image. I normally love your stuff, but this one's not good enough this time. Thanks for the free advance copy, anyway.

Interesting ideas for other cultures in space. The family seems to have a captivating backstory but it isn't revealed in this volume, it's done it's job of making me curious at the very least. In the whole volume few overarching questions are answered and the narrative is over run with arguing/bickering and blame that isn't actually resolved, just dropped in favor of the next problem. A lot of events happen one on top of another, making for an exciting read, but seems to quickly clutter the story.

The art is a little bizarre and inconsistent as far as anatomy goes but the action scenes flow well and the colors are outstanding. The use of panels is over exaggerated but is essentially legible. Definitely a book i would recommend for someone looking for an exciting read. I wouldn't necessarily offer it up to someone looking for a space adventure since there isn't any real space in the book and it's more about survival and establishing communication and cooperation with a new culture.
