Can I just say that I loved Caymen's sense of humor? I am all about the sarcasm.

“I slide my feet onto the seat next to him, my ankle brushing against his thigh. “No shallowness of breath? No rapidly beating heart?”
He rests one hand on my foot as he continues to mess with his phone. His eyes meet mine in amusement. “Are those the indicators? I might have an issue after all.”

*Squeals over the cute* I can't tell whether it's because of the sticky summer weather or never-ending ice cream, but I've been having intense cravings for all things fluffy. And that is exactly what I got when I flipped to the first page of The Distance Between Us . It was such an easy, breezy read *insert covergirl commercial* that I couldn't help finishing it all in one sitting.

Of course in contemporary novels, the strong points are almost always the characters. The Distance Between Us was no exception. In fact, I grew pretty attached to our leading couple, the protagonist especially. Not once did I ever get irritated with Caymen. Her humour hits me in all the right places, and her independent nature automatically drew me in. And there's Xander, who pretty much has the whole package: the looks, a caring personality, and a whole lot of money. How can anyone go wrong with that?

Then there's the plot, to which I say: Meh. Then again, nobody picks up a ya contemporary romance novel expecting an amazing scheme to overthrow corrupt governments and whatnot. So I cover my eyes and hand the plot a Get Out of Jail Free Card, despite it being a mass of teenage sitcom cliches.

All in all, this is definitely recommended for those who need an extra dose of cuteness, sarcasm, and swoon-worthy romance in their lives (also, imagining a totally gorgeous Xander is definitely guaranteed to lift even the glummest of faces).

This is books was so adorable and witty, I'm speechless.

I loved every single thing about it. I have zero complaints. This book met and exceeded my standards.

Just read it. Especially if you love cute romances with great characters.

Just a fun, cute read. Definitely checking out more of her stuff.

I really struggled with this book. The plot centered around a girl who didn't come from a lot of money with a mother who was struggling to make ends meet, and who was raised to think that all rich people were terrible human beings. When she meets Xander, whose family has money, she's absolutely AWFUL to him, for literally zero reason other than the fact that his family is rich. I almost stopped reading the book because of that fact alone, but thought maybe she would develop and grow throughout the book. She didn't. Xander was nothing but nice to her, and gave her no reason to be so horrible to him, but she constantly make snide comments about his family's money. RUDE. Ugh that annoys me to no end. That aside, the ending of the book was unrealistic and a little too "koombayah" for my liking.

Kasie West seems to be a hit or miss author for me. I think I've read four of her books, and I've loved two and hated two. This unfortunately fell into the latter category.

This cute teenage romance was a fun light read. The characters are likable enough (even the guy who is bad for being rich) and I do like it when a light read has a nice happy ending, which this definitely did.

Kasie West never ceases to impress me. I am in awe at how relatable and entertaining Kasie's writings are. As soon as I pick up one of her books, I can't get myself to out it down.

The Distance Between Us was no different. The storyline was intriguing and the characters were super lovable. It's amazing how Kasie can channel her inner teenager and write a story that relates to most teenage girls. I absolutely love this book and all the emotions I felt while reading it. Very well written :)

Really cute story! This was my first Kasie West book and I was not disappointed. I loved Caymen's sarcasm!

I needed a quick read after my last couple books and this was perfect for that!
