The Distance Between Us

SO CUTE!

I think I liked this book more than The Fill-In Boyfriend. Cayman's sarcasm was a nice change from the usual characters I read about. I need to find more characters like her.

The romance in this book was adorable! And so were the side characters. I loved it when they all interacted with each other. It was hilarious. A real friendship was made between them.

I am looking forward to another Kasie West book in my not so distant future!

This is the third title from Kasie West that I have read so far in what has turned out to be a typically expected pleasant contemporary. Interesting characters and predicaments make for a lovely romantic escape, and ‘The Distance Between Us’ does not disappoint.

Caymen was a lot like me growing up (except I had two parents with high expectations and rules like hers). Her hard work ethic masking a romantic, yet practical side gave Caymen a grounded edge that had me easily relating to her. It was a nice break from flighty and stubborn protagonists and lent our lead a realistic and mature edge.

It was great to see a love interest that was just what he seemed. I lurved Xander. He was real, making no apologies for his lifestyle and the resources he has at hand. Yes, that can be a little entitled, but he wore it well. I was ready to tackle Caymen to the ground and claim Xander all for myself.

One thing about this novel - the doll shop had me freaked out – porcelain dolls are scary little buggars. I can remember my cousin chasing me around the back yard with one when I was younger wanting to play… the only thing you’ll get out of me with those creepy things about is a scream and a cloud of dust in my wake.

I do enjoy Kasie’s writing style, it’s very easy to read and lends to a fast paced afternoon read. Great to curl up on the lounge and while away a lazy weekend!

The surprise ending was a little cliché, but with a romance, it’s mostly expected. Very after school special. Recommended for those who enjoy quick, light-hearted, contemporary reads.

I really liked it. Love the narrator's humor! The plot is more original and therefore different from her other books. Already read On the Fence, so might have to read it yet again now that I know Skye better.

Not the most amazing or original story but well paced and cute enough to keep me turning the pages relatively quickly. Fast fun read.

Just like... really cute and super fun.

Ahh i forgot how it felt to read a ya romcom. Honestly i enjoyed it way more than i should've. But the romance was so sweet and the mc was so hilarious. I loved how the author didn't play into certain tropes while she rode the other pretty fast but i enjoyed it

Loved the family dynamics in this book and the couple was cute.

This was an okay read. It felt kind of tropey and wasn't really done in a necessarily original way. I liked Cayman a lot - her dry sarcastic humor was great. But it felt like a lot of build up and barely any resolve. It was so quick and a little too sickly sweet. It was perfectly fine and enjoyable, but not the best contemporary I've ever read.

Kasie West nikdy nezklame. ❤️ Jestli mám opravdu ráda nějakou autorku YA, tak je to Kasie West. Od ní mám přečtené snad všechny knížky. S tou jsem prostě vyrostla

Because of a lot of work/school related stress I desperately needed something cute and funny to take my mind off of things and this book was definitely perfect for that occasion. :)
