********Copy from NetGalley in return for an honest review******

Not my thing. Wrong era for a bodice ripper for me and not clever enough for a straight historical in the vein of Phillippa Gregory. But if you like your romances Tudor, it may work for you better than it did for me

I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. I did not however read the blurb or any reviews for this book. It was not what I thought, but that does not change the review.
It sucked, but I am still giving 3 stars because of the few steamy scenes.
In the beginning the author protrays the "heroine", Eloise, as some headstrong woman. Yet through out the book, we see otherwise. A real submissive, and unsure of herself.
Lord Wolf, even when he "tried" to be nice (if you want to call it that) was a straight-out asshole. How I made it to the end of the book is beyond me, but I try to never give up.
Not impressed with this author, or this book.

This book had a fantastic start (and the first couple of sex scenes were really hot) but around 40%, it started feeling overwrought and repetitive. By 60%, Wolf is still being a jackass to Eloise, to the point where it doesn’t even feel buyable when they finally confess their love for one another. It’s a super repetitive book and it ends up feeling anticlimactic. Like. Things just start Happening to people. It was almost funny when Eloise’s ex-boyfriend got exiled, primarily because the story does not convince me why I should give a shit. Also, I feel like Eloise being a fiery young lady was mostly an informed attribute, as her personality seemed to disappear about halfway through.

So yes. A middling three stars for me, because the set up and (some of) the initial intrigue was gripping. I need to do some meditating on whether or not I feel like getting the next book from the library.

A really enjoyable look into Tudor England and the times of Anne Boleyn. Hero and heroine are both wonderful. Oh, and this book is filthy. I mean that as a compliment.

Eloise Tyrell is a lady in waiting for Anne Boleyn when she finds out she is to be married to Lord Wolff. Expecting a loveless marriage, she plans to have an heir and then be free to return to court. The fates have other plans.
