Can't get over all the blurbs saying this book is funny. Sweet and sometimes amusing, sure, but the "funny" bits are mostly just sad.

Great book. Well written. Easy read. Nice mix of suspense and empathy and humour.

I loved this story, the progtagonists, and the the humor. I deducted a half star for foul language. Find a new "F" word to use, for pity sake!

Boy did I love this book. Not only was it hysterical, but it also had such valuable life lessons: what it means to be (and have) a good friend, facing your past to get on with your future, reaching out to others when you need help. Eleanor was so lovable in her assessment of the world … funny and quirky without even meaning to be. I can’t remember the last novel I read where the main character was developed so deeply. Add this one to your list: it will make you laugh and cry.

I picked this up from the library since many people had recommended it online. However, after that I saw that many others didn't like it so I avoided reading it till the last possible minute which was a waste since it was so good. I really enjoyed eleanors development. Raymond was really nice and I think this book tackled with such heavy subjects fairly well. Overall it was quite enjoyable imo.

This book made me cry more than any other, because it is so beautifully sad. Eleanor Oliphant is a deeply traumatised and therefore shut-down person, who doesn’t really know how to exist in the world,
but through the kindness of a friend she overcomes her unimaginable struggles to ultimately find peace
Honeyman has created a narrative which explores an under-represented social issue: loneliness in young people, and in doing so makes the reader fall completely in love with Eleanor.
