What a book! Sensational! Entertaining! What more can I say! It seems to me that a rating of 5 is quite inadequate.

The plot evolved smoothly and had plenty to catch your attention. I love the cross examinations in the court case. Always so clever with tremendous focus on significant detail. The experts testifying received an experience they will wish to forget very quickly.

The ending!!! It was stunning x 2. Just when you figured you knew what was going on - you discovered you didn’t.

@SteveCavanagh - thank you!

The twists and turns in the story left you turning the page and waiting for the next one. It is written from the perspective of a lawyer and the killer, where they end up meeting together in the end but the lawyer still misses a large part of the story.

I don't want to give away too much of the story, however in this one you learn a lot about found family and how much finding your family can effect you especially in a stressful situation and it also shows how justice sometimes may not prevail despite the lawyer's best abilities.

Even though this is a part of a series you don't have to read any previous books in order to know what it going on as it is a stand alone.

Found about this author from a book club podcast and wow is he good. Twists and turns until the very last page - he really keeps you on your toes. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, there’s another curveball. The characters are well developed and layered too (men, women, victims, murderer etc.). I found myself really identifying with some of the female characters. I loved the insight into the American legal system too. BRB reading all Cavanagh’s stuff now.
