A fun and spicy Halloween read. This is my second novella (and third overall work) by Jack Whitney and I always her ability to tell a detailed and believable story in short and long format.

Reading this one might make you want to look in the mirror and say three times...

"Bloody Mary..."
"Bloody Mary..."
Bloody Mary..."

As always, I recommend consulting content warnings prior to reading.

Just okay. I had high expectations but I just didn't love it.

“I am the demon your body craves, the goddess of your nightmares, the chase your mind desires. I am the darkest want of your little black heart. No other can compare to this, to what I can do to you…”

Damon scours the earth—and then some—for demons to hunt. For the most part, they've all been easy to find compared to Scarlet Mary, the one demon he's been obsessed with. He finally finds her in an abandoned mansion, stuck inside a mirror. His plan is to go in, entertain her, and kill her. Unfortunately, he wasn't counting on the seductress and all the tricks she pulls out of her sleeve.

To put Mary on her knees before killing her would be the highlight of my career thus far.

If you've read Jack Whitney's novellas before, you know to expect smut after smut after intense, melt-your-insides smut! Break the Glass is certainly no exception. I loved the smirking, confident, femme dom that is Mary; she did not come to play. I was so not expecting the shadow play she threw at Damon, but holy hell, that was hot!

“You’re mine,” I swore. “You come when I tell you to. You breathe when I tell you to. You fuck me like I tell you to.”

I could totally see this as a start of a series of novellas of Damon and Mary taking over the paranormal world; it would be an absolute treat to have more of them every spooky season. If you're looking for a fast, easy-read, spooky, paranormal, smutty novella, look no further than Break the Glass!

Jack Whitney knows how to write smut and does it WELL! Couldn't have asked for a better novella this spooky season. Scarlet Mary can have me, soul and all. I'll forever fall for Jack's characters. Can't wait for her winter novella with Jack Frost!
