This book was a little slow in places, but it really picked up the last 150 pages or so... The main character is hilarious and the book really seems to be throwing the series into a good bout of hijinks and shenanigans. Excited to was the second book, eventually.

Very camp! If you’re looking to read a silly fantasy school book with a grumpy main character, this book is very fun and a quick read. Middle grade and grungy. I found myself skimming over paragraphs of the main character’s inner thoughts and explanations to get to dialogue. I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend this book but I wouldn’t discourage people from reading it!
