An enjoyable refreshing time travel read I got for free off Amazon and just bought the sequel. I enjoyed the author's approach. The characters are are a tad shallow in content but the story was great paced as well as inventive. I liked it!

It took me soooooooo Long to finish this audiobook. The performance was fine but the story... the writing was so straight forward, uninteresting and dull. Some parts went on and on, unnecessary details flooding the chapters. I would get bored and drift and find myself constantly rewinding to catch what I missed.

Today I completed it. Yea me. I will say the last few chapters were very exciting. If book two is like these last two chapters I’m willing to give it a go. We’ll see.

Goodreads winner.

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to review this book. I think it has a lot of potential to be good but it feels like a first book where the author is still trying to sort out his own voice and when he wavers, I (as the reader) waver, too. I like the idea of this book very much. I like the world-building where time travel is not stuck in sci-fi techno-words, the characters feel like separate and real entities rather than cardboard cutouts there to move the plot along and yet... and yet... I just think there are too many characters to try and focus on. It's ultimately leading me to my interests splintering and waning into indifference the further along I go.

My bookmark sits at the halfway mark and I'm having a hard time wanting to pick it back up. I see many high ratings for this book and another review even mentions how slow the first part of this book is - and it's true! - so I suspect all the good, juicy action adventure scenes are later on but I jut can't seem to find myself trying to get over this hurdle of disinterest. I feel incredibly guilty saying that for now I think I need to put this book down for a bit and potentially pick it up in the future. I'm sorry.

Take the time to read

A good story for a stormy Sunday read. Likeable characters and plenty, but often confusing, plot twists. Don't blink, you might miss something.

Stayed up late reading....

Very enjoyable. There's a couple rough patches in the prose, but such a fun time travel adventure. I can't wait to dive into the sequel!

One of the better time travel stories I've read. In Times Like These delves deep into the concepts of time travel, and clearly lays out how it works in the story's universe. The mechanics of time travel are believably implemented, accounting for issues that most time-travel stories ignored.

Add to this a group of likeable characters, and you're all set for a great adventure.

In Times Like These goes deep, but at the same time, it feels like the first dripping of the toe into a vast story world with endless possibilities. I'll be launching straight into book 2 shortly.

Rained out game becomes Home Run

Benched team plays for life and death stakes. Unless you've attended Temporal Academy it won't make sense right away to you either.
Every swing, hit, and run is more unexpected than the last. From a sleepy St. Pete's Florida to brawling Boston, to a majestic hot air balloon in the sky. You're going to want to hang in until this goes into overtime.

What an absolutely fantastic book.
This is Nathan Van Coops first book, and it's a winner. I normally don't even read this type of book. Preferring reality to fantasy, but this was a very enjoyable change of pace. A time travellers tale that is not ridiculous, but almost believable. At times very funny and at others very tense. So good I immediately bought the next two in the series.
The high ratings this book has received from the majority of readers were well deserved.
