It always feels different reading fairy tales as an adult. A more evident realization of the dark themes, violence, and brutality occurs. A new perspective on making sense of the stories happens, considering what one has experienced in life. However, the way they teach certain lessons remain.

Memorable tales to me include The Travelling Companion, The Wild Swans, and The Red Shoes (despite being too gross for my liking).

I will definitely be rereading some of these stories, but others I'll be skipping next go around. I also noticed that Hans has an affinity for snails, which is a little funny given the numerous things said about snails in the stories that were inaccurate.
