The Hookup is socially awkward vs. Social pariah of his own making.
She is the mildly OCD NERD girl. He is the angry drunk. They aren't from the same worlds or even stratosphere. But they work and they both find something more than they ever expected from a hook up.

This book was Amazing!! I absolutely Loved it! Sophie is a uniquely refreshing character! She is brave and confident, I love her straight forwardness and how she handles everything that comes her way. Cain messed with all my emotions. I just couldn't help but feel for him. He needs Sophie he just doesn't know how much! This story wasn't all hearts and roses, it was raw feelings and pain. It touches on a serious issues, Cain being an Alcoholic. I think it was very realistic and Cain's story was told in a hauntingly beautifully way. I was so hooked on Cain and Sophie I just couldn't get enough. It wasn't all deep there was humor, Sophie's internal dialogue was just hilarious! Oh the things in that girls head! The drama that surrounds them and the chemistry between them is enough to set you aflame. I was just waiting on pins and needles for the ball to drop when christian was concerned! Man did that blow up! This so much more than a Hookup! Cain and Sophie were Hot and Sexy! They really make you root for them and Hope for more! I loved it! Read it!! You will not be disappointed! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm completely speechless......this book was amazing!!!!!! You really get a sense of the characters true feelings and while I agree that at times Cain can be a complete jerk, there's so much more to it than that. He's hurting and he doesn't know how to deal with it so he lashes out.....at everyone. Until Sophie comes along. She's so honest and forthright about everything; she doesn't know how to be any other way. She just wants to be treated like everyone else, but people are intimidated by her brain; including her own family, but not Cain. The both see the good and the bad in each other, but accept themselves and each other for who they are, flaws and all.

I love how this story shows things that truly happen in everyday life, both good and bad. You see the struggles that Cain has with alcohol and family issues and you see how Sophie sees so much more than most people thinks she does but she has her own struggles as well. And she has feelings just like everyone else.

Sophie and Cain make each other want to be the best version of themselves.

I enjoyed this book, but I don’t know that I found the ending completely satisfying. I’m sure there are those that will disagree with me, but at the end I still had some questions about the subplots going on in the book. I’m hoping that those questions will be answered in the next book. Cain and Sophie were an unlikely couple, but they worked together. Cain wasn’t always likable but I could understand his pain. He was betrayed by his twin and his ex, but his coping mechanism was not healthy. Sophie was a “weird” girl and misunderstood by everyone except Cain. I enjoyed their chemistry and their quirks as a couple. I look forward to reading more in this series and hopefully seeing more from these two.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this story. I will admit to being intrigued to reading about a hero that is an alcoholic. I was surprised to see Sophie invest so much of her feelings into someone who obviously needed a tremendous amount of help. I was worried that Cain's alcoholism would be the reason he accepted Sophie's Asperger's. I was extremely happy that he points out to her (once in treatment) that she's perfect for him. And that her brand of honesty and intelligence is what he wants in his life.

Cain Jordan has found his coping methods, drinking and banging the tourists. He's had a craptastic couple of years, being betrayed by your twin brother and not knowing if the child your girlfriend had is yours, well it can really do an number on anyone. But his hook-up takes a dramaticly different turn when Sophie was into the bar.
Sophie knows numbers, they give her comfort and keep her grounded. She's been so focused on her steps to her PhD that normal social interactions are unnerving. While in Maine for her sister Bella's pre-wedding duties she's focused on making changes. Math didn't help her get rid of her V Card, there's no calculation for sex. It's messy and kicks in emotions she's not prepared for. And she's definitely not ready for Cain, first he drinks entirely too much and he sees more than she's comfortable with. Can the math geek and the town bad boy really help each other in the long term or is just an itch to be scratched while waiting for the wedding festivities to be over?

I liked this romance between Cain and Sophie. For Cain's faults, he was the only one that saw past Sophie's quirks and OCD. He liked her for who she was and was always there with a compliment to prove to her that she was just as pretty and special as her sister.

I would have liked a bit more of a development of what happened between Cain and Christian. That fallout was the reason for Cain's downfall, so it would have been great to have that detail.

Great story, I love Sophie, she just really doesn't care, and Cain likesher just as she is. The pacing was good, there was no time where I couldn't wait for it to be over, or was bored. This author knows how to keep a reader interested.

I loved it! Erin McCarthy never fails to hook me up with a superb read. Big fan here! Loved those Fast Track novels...... this one is a bit different. Instead of hot alpha male, we get big guy with a big chip....rightfully so. Cain and Sophie meet with no strings ideas. Cain needs a distraction and Sophie has that pesky VCard. Amazingly though sometimes smart girls do win the lottery. I thought the book was flirty and fun and I read it in one little sitting. Looking forward to book two... keep on writing.
