It’s better then the previous book but it doesn’t take advantage of the fact that Tal is undercover as well as it could. But I was rooting for him and I enjoyed his story

Mm. It worries me when the obvious conclusion happens in the middle book, not the last. This was an okay one. I enjoyed the drop from noble to prisoner, and the escape.
I was disappointed that Tal didn’t anticipate the backhand play by Kasper (shouldn’t he have?!) and that he didn’t die. I’m hopeful the other orsoni will be found, but mostly I worry that the third book is going to be boring af, now the story has come to its natural conclusion.

Feist has never been great at writing women, but he's shockingly bad here. Full review: https://fakegeekboy.wordpress.com/2013/06/28/chirps-of-the-reading-canary/

This book really kept me on my toes and had some horrific consequences.
Really really enjoyed this sequel to Talon Of The Silver Hawk.
Tal is quickly becoming my favourite protagonist in this series!
