Divorced and trying to figure out life afterwards, leads the FMC to moving into a new house and making friends with neighbors and coworkers who decide to start a book club. Each picking a different book that relates to where they currently are in life. In the mist of this club, the FMC finds love again not looking forward and with the help of her daughter. This is a cute summer light read for those later in life trying to figure out what to do next. You have witty banter and a lot of sass.

“We all need stories, we all love stories, but we also need to live our own stories. Books should encourage you to do that.”
This was a sweet story about new beginnings and new friendships. I love each character’s inner monologue it was very humorous - they are all unique and witty- reminds me of how I talk to myself sometimes. Karissa moves with her daughter to a new town with a new job at a publishing company after her ex husband had an affair with her best friend. She meets a few new people who become friends- Alice, Margot and Josie. She also meets her new boss Edward Elliott whose family runs the publishing company. Their daughters become friends through school and she begins to long for more. Karissa is the main character but I really loved her friend Margot’s story as well. I enjoyed the friendships in this book as well as the love stories that unfolded. I also enjoyed all the book talk throughout. There were some really great pieces of life advice in this book as well. I am interested in knowing more about all of the ladies I kind of wish it had finished a few things out more.
“Books are like chocolate. It only takes one to get you hooked.”

Before I get into the review, I would like to say thank you to a few important people. First, thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for approving me to read this advanced reader copy! Also, thank you to the author, Sheila Roberts, who wrote this amazing novel. Your writing is incredibly beautiful, and I am so happy to have been given the opportunity to read “The Best Life Book Club” as my first ARC book!
This fun, lighthearted book had be hook as soon as I read the synopsis. This novel takes you through 4 women’s daily lives, and their personal struggles. These new friends decide to start a book club, and each person ends up learning different life lessons from the books they read.
Each chapter starts with a quote from a book they read from their book club, which I thought was a great addition to this book. This novel is written in third person point of view. Since you are following 4 different characters, it took a little while for me to follow who was who, but after getting reeled into the story, I began figuring out each of the characters, and their own plots that contributed to this book. After finishing this book, I was feeling genuinely happy, and I cannot wait to read more books from Sheila Roberts!

Thank you to @NetGalley for letting me read the advanced ebook in exchange for my honest review.
This book was so slow for the first 300 pages, but then everything happened at once. It felt like a rushed ending, however I did enjoy each characters HEA. The little changes and choices each character made to make a better life for themselves was inspiring. Im so happy to have my own book club amd try different genres and meet new people too, just like these women.
