The description and even cover made me really want to love this. And it could have been this exceptional story about finding your community and building an incredible life, yet the messaging ultimately hinged on a man being necessary for happiness.

The Best Life Book Club by Sheila Roberts is a sweet story of friendships, second chances, and for that every reader who takes something from every book they read.
Karissa is starting a new life with her daughter after she has been cheated on by her husband. She moves into a new neighborhood where she makes new friendships. Alice, Margot, and Josie and Karissa bond over books, and maybe this is what gives these women the second chance of happiness.
I enjoyed reading this book. It's a very sweet and happy story of friendships, though there's some sadness underneath. The discussions of the books, though some are fictional, and how books make an impact on the readers were really fun. This book is perfect for just lounging on the patio with an iced tea! That's what I did :)
Thank you, Harlequin Trade Publishing, for this book.

#audiobook Expected more. Turned out it’s just a chick-lit. 4 very interesting, strong women, who was supposed to find wisdom in books, yet somehow it seemed like all they need was a man in their life to make their lives more fulfilling. Tuned out most parts that were just too cheesy.

The Best Life Book Club by Sheila Roberts:
This is a charming, and often funny, PG-rated, character-based love letter to fans of books and reading. I enjoyed getting to know the 4 main characters, Karissa, Margot, Alice, and Josie. They form an unlikely book club when newly divorced Karissa moves to their neighborhood. In time they each find the right book at the right time to help them heal their individual wounds. I was invested in their stories and became hopeful that everyone in the group would be given a happy ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
