I loooooove Nicole Byer and am a follower of the extensive Nicole Byer podcast universe (Why Won't You Date Me?, Drag Her, Best Friends, Newcomers, 90 Day Bae). I have seen her perform stand-up. So I might not be in the best position to be objective about this book of photos and inspiration, but I thought it was funny and vibrant and fun to read.

I really wanted to like this more because I LOVE Nicole Byer, but this was a bit of a let down. I laughed out loud maybe twice, and the rest was kind of meh. Rating a 3 for the body positivity and I truly loved all of her bikini pictures. I still love you Nicole!

I'm hella biased bc I love Nicole Byer and it probably would've taken a lot for me not to give this 5 stars. It is exactly what it's advertised as - a coffee table book featuring colorful photos of Nicole Byer in various bikinis in various locations, accompanied by her usual sense of humor, with the slightest hint of self-help. If you have heard her speak, in your head you can hear her talking as you read.

My only complaint, and it is a super minor one, is that I do think she overuses the hashtag mechanism throughout the book. My brain kept wanting to read it as "hashtag bravery" or "hashtag confidence" or whatever and that felt clunky, so I had to make the conscious decision to act as if the hashtags weren't there.

**If you are offended easily, don’t like swear words, and raunchy topics this book isn’t for you**

***Possible trigger warning: sexual harassment***

I loved how authentic and open she is. This book has given me the confidence to go and buy clothes that actually fit me. Nicole is someone I look up to and have always envied her confidence. But there’s no reason I need to envy her when I can be #brave myself. I have been wanting to feel confident in the body I have it’s been so hard because of the unrealistic expectations society has for bodies. They say you must be this size to wear a bikini, this size to wear a crop top, etc, but will call a fat person who puts on a crop top #brave. It’s not #brave to wear something society says not to. We are wearing something we feel good in, or moving our body in a way that feels good not for society but for us. I say go out and buy that tight dress, and wear that low cut top. You as a “lil fattie” (what she calls us fat people) deserve to feel your best. Be who you are, love who you are, and never be sorry for taking up space. You are loved and adored by so many.
I will be posting positive affirmations around my house on sticky notes and on my mirror to remind myself that I am worthy of being me and rocking that bikini. And I will be looking at myself in the mirror a lot more and speaking to myself kindly.
I recommend this book to my fellow amazing fat people in the fat community. This book really focuses on being fat and tips and tricks to feel your best (not one of those dumb self help books written by a skinny white lady/dude who give you tips on the same subject). This book is very raunchy and if you are offended easily or don’t like swear words, this book isn’t for you.

A near perfect book! I just wish Nicole had a more anti-diet philosophy.

Love Nicole and don’t want to rate this poorly, but didn’t think this was a book. It was fun and cute but could have been a magazine article instead.

I was definitely looking for more short stories then pictures of her. I get where she was going but there was way too much and just not enough writing. The little writing that was there was good and interesting and I wish there was more as I feel it would of inspired more people living in a fat body like myself to really relate to.
