Truly the tag of “a book for everyone and no one” rings truer now that I’ve finished it. In my humble opinion, nothing in this book was earth shattering, but it did make me think – which is what I wanted. I had to think about the ways our habits and ideals fit into what society wants from us. I also found myself thinking about the ways religion can shape the paths we walk, before we even realize we could choose. These were things I expected from this book and was pleasantly surprised by. I was also unpleasantly surprised by the diminishing of women (which I realized later I should have expected, but I never would have expected it to the extent it occurred)

TLDR : like a 1800s version of the male spiral after a break up, but unfortunately had some good points

Von Frauen- und Fremdenfeindlichem Gaga-Geschwurbel bis hin zu lebensveränderndem Zitat war alles dabei, daher fällt es mir schwer, eine Wertung zu vergeben.

Could have been so much better. As mentioned in many reviews, it’s virtually incomprehensible.

Wusste nicht, dass Nietzsche so unterhaltsam sein kann.

"La terre, dit-il, a une peau ; et cette peau a des maladies.
Une de ces maladies s’appelle par exemple :
« homme »."

"Église ? Répondis-je, c’est une espèce d’État, et
l’espèce la plus mensongère. Mais, tais-toi, chien de feu, tu
connais ton espèce mieux que personne !"

Interesting book. But I had no idea what was going on 50% of the time, but that's what the internet is for! Haha

DID NOT FINISH: 16%

Didn't finish reading it as I couldn't stomach the vile misogyny. Don't you dare come at me with "but you have to consider the times".
No. I don't care. Rot in hell Friedrich.
