I need more! I absolutely loved getting Bones's pov and can't wait for the next one. Grasping hands and a needy heart...

The infamous vampire Bones, vampire bounty hunter, has finally caught up the the Red Reaper. After years of searching for Cat, Bones catches up to her and tells the story from his point of view. Contending with the price on Cat's head, her secret government job, and his own sire's misdeeds to reckon with Bone's has his work cut out for him.

Yes, the story overall is one we read at the beginning of the series, but the writing has improved and to be bluntly honest, I really enjoyed the inner workings of Bone's mind more than Cat's. There was so much less sef-depreciation and inner turmoil, which allowed for better storytelling. I also very much enjoyed the insights into Randy, Charles, and Annette that we get in this novel.

Fantastic Fangs!!! It had been quite awhile since I read the Night Huntress Series. That being said, It didn't take long for it all come back to me. Having the story from Bones's point-of-view gave such a unique perspective. He is so lucky he can't get headaches. I finished Both Feet in the Grave wondering how severe his headaches would have gotten.

I got so much enjoyment from reading and remembering the antics of Bones and Kitten. That doesn't mean someone needs to read the first books in Night Huntress series to become total enthralled with the story. But I do have to ask, Why wouldn't you want to? They are fangbulous.

Bones has been around for hundreds of years giving him lots of opinions but in all that time he had never fallen in love. Meeting Cat, Kitten to Bones and only bones, changed everything. When she disappeared; he was lost, searching high and low. When he finds her he isn't going to let her go.

Bones will protect her. Bones will protect them. Bones will even put up with the man on her team who loves her in secret. (OH MY WORD!!! Bones has some amazing knee slapping reactions.) Bones will not let anything come between them. Bones will stop at nothing to protect Kitten and their future.

Bones has a lot to say about the past. He has a lot to say about those that are near and dear to them. Danger surrounds them. Violence riddles the pages. Secrets are revealed. An enemy will be revealed on stage, with lots of suspense and vampire world enlightenment. Without Bones point-of-view I wold have missed so much.

💬: "Bones traced the lines in Cat’s tattoo. Every notch and curve was identical to the one he had on his upper arm. She’d memorized his cross-bones so thoroughly that a picture couldn’t have been more accurate. His emotions fired like the finale of a fireworks show."

Both Feet in the Grave written by Jeaniene Frost, is an alternate perspective book based on the second book in her Night Huntress series, One Foot in the Grave. Both Feet in the Grave was more exciting than the original second book in the series, I really love Bones as a character and his thoughts and decisions are interesting to follow. I'm really excited to read the third book from his perspective (if the author ends up writing it), but for now let's discuss Both Feet in the Grave.

Cat and Bones have been separated at this point for 4 or 5 years, neither of them has contacted the other in this time span. Cat is now working as
a special agent in a Supernatural department of a special government agency.
By happenstance Cat and Bones end up once again crossing each other's paths.

There were so many cool actions scenes and we all know that Cat is a badass, but these alternate perspective books are definitely where Bones shines. I think both the main characters are really cool but these books tell so much of Bones' background story, it's all so interesting.

The spicy scenes were really enjoyable. I'm giving the spicy scenes three point five chilies 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 out of five chilies

There was a lot of action in this novel, but there was also a bit of romance. I think the action overweighs the romance, but the story is still a good one either way. I'm giving this 5 out of 5 stars.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 5/5  Stars

Love Cat and Bones

I have never been able to get enough of these two. I have never figured out why these two are some of my favorite characters but seeing this story from Bones' perspective adds more to the story and makes me love them more. We get to see things we didn't know about what he did in the background and it makes their story better. I loved this book and can't wait to see At Graves End from his point of view.

Both Feet in the Grave is the second book in Jeanine Frost's retelling of her Night Huntress series as told by Bones. There will be some spoilers here so stop reading if you haven't read the first book (from Cat or Bones' points of view) in the series.

This is one of the early series that was my introduction into the paranormal romance genre. After the cliffhanger events at the end of the first book where Bones and Cat are parted, originally the series picked up with Cat telling the story. I remember being so happy, at the time, that I was late to the game because the second book was already out and I could immediately pick it up. I cannot imagine having to wait. Suffice it to say, this was the book that I was waiting for when Jeanine Frost started giving readers Bones' perspective.

The first book felt too much, for me, like a play by play, just from Bones' point of view. I didn't feel like we were learning anything NEW about the characters that wasn't already established by reading things from Cat's perspective.

Both Feet in the Grave changes all of that because by the start of the book Bones and Cat have been separated for years. Getting Bones' point of view puts a new spin on some of the events. I know that I was most interested in how Bones perceived Cat's absence. We got an in-depth look at how much Bones was effected by the separation and the almost manic way he searched for her.

For me, the most interesting part were the interactions with Annette. Annette was a long-time foil for Cat in the original series having been sired by Bones and has known him for centuries. It was interesting to see the way that Annette - while a valued person in his life - doesn't really register as a romantic partner for Bones. Also, how he has blinders on when it comes to anyone else besides Cat kind of reinforcing the whole idea that this is true love for him. It's something that he hasn't truly experienced before.

In that regard, it means he still doesn't understand the potential animosity that could rear up between Annette and Cat. It was quite funny to see how caught off guard Bones was by this because he's usually so formidable and self-assured. He has a solution for everything, so it puts him out of his element a little bit.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book told from Bones' point of view. I'm hoping Jeanine Frost will continue with the rest of the series in this way. I know, like many fans, there are certain moments that stick out that I would want to get Bones' internal reaction.

I'd say if you are a fan of this series, you'll definitely want to pick this one up.
