for me

This book was good. Seemed to drag on a little. Now while it was good I will also say that it was overhyped. It was good but not super great like people have said. I was a little disappointed. The book was good. I love Morgan Elizabeth but this book was average. Not super good but not bad. The end was cute. A little boring at times. Overall it was okay. 3/5

It makes me so sad to give this book 2 stars but I simply can't help it. The characters got SO annoying - I really, truly don't have many book pet peeves but the miscommunication/"why don't you guys just take a second and talk to each other????" has got to be towards the top of the list. Plus, some of the shows of strength and protectiveness weirded me out - it pulled me out of the book and made it less believable (not that I'm looking for books to be believable constantly, but some parts of this were SO unbelievable that it was hard to read through).

That being said, I LOVE Morgan Elizabeth and a majority of her writing - I think this is the first to be less than a 5 star for me, it just really didn't feel as believable as the first 2 in this series. But PLEASE take my word and read her other stuff - her writing is typically to die for!!

This book was very different than Morgan’s typical writing. I’m not a fan of the absolute toxic character Ben is. Enemies to lovers, sure. But Ben is almost verbally abusive. I tried to get past it, hoping that when they got together, it would fade. But then it took a weirder turn. I don’t stop reading many books,  it just couldn’t do the toxic relationship. Just not for me.

this was fine, it was a bit repetitive. in the dedication she mentions her love for writing filth and that is what this was. definitely a book that is better in fantasy and if a man was like that in real life 🤢

but for people who love possessive semi alpha-holes you'd love this. the plot outside of the romance was heavy themes but not too intense. I wish it was more about making the bakery work and less about some of the family drama.

Smut is great. Plot is weak. The mafia twist is just kinda unnecessary

I enjoyed every second of this book. It had perfect amounts of comedy and spice, suspense and sass, expected and unexpected. I love it when authors inner connect their series and the way Ms. Elizabeth's other characters make appearances was expertly done. Ben and Lola are amazing. Their chemistry is off the charts and their banter is top-notch. I loved Hattie when she first appeared in Tanner's story and I love her even more now. I hope that she is a frequent flyer in future books!
