This book was extremely well written and very easy and interesting. It's genuine and personal. Bri feels like a natural person and everything she goes through feels very real. I love the casual talk about sexuality and how they don't make it the character's whole personality trait. There's more to them than being attracted to the same sex. This book does have some dark themes such as death, drugs, sexism, and a few other things. I overall loved the book and would've read it in one sitting if it was during the summer and I didn't have school.

Reading this book felt like gaining a friend (or a group, as the Unholy Trinity truly comes as a set). Angie Thomas is a talented writer, each chapter flawlessly moves the scene and each character is given enough space for us to find ourselves in the scene. I'm not someone from the US and I can't say much about the representation from an outside view, but you can tell that there had been so much care put into these pages for people to find themselves — just as Bri had.

Yet another great one from Angie Thomas. i am not a YA fan, yet I look forward to her books. They pack such a punch. The whole time I am reading it, my eyes are open and I am absorbing it all like a sponge. The characters are feisty, strong and unrelenting. They are dedicated and have such a passion. It is not always easy to read, but somehow Thomas makes the pages fly by. I don't want to compare Bri with Starr, but they are similar as they are different. Read this, do it, and then read all of Thomas' other books when they come. I know I will be.
