I’m going to be honest, this is not the type of book I would read, but I did read it seeing as I am a native to where the author wrote. It was hard for me to connect with the book and the way the author wrote because I felt the storyline was moving a little too slow for my liking. He was giving background information and context so I understand, but the constant back and forth between past and present was annoying to me. The second half of the book was actually much more enjoyable to me and it actually pulled me in wanting more. All around a decent read if you’re willing to sit through the beginning which felt more filler than anything

I had to return to the library so I didn’t get to finish it. I had about a third of the book left, but it was pretty good up until that point. Imaginative and interesting, with a complicated main character, which I enjoy. I’ll probably not check it out again to finish it anytime soon, but I would recommend it. I just have a short attention span and have already moved on.
