I'm really interested in the Spiritualism movement that occurred in the early part of the twentieth century, so this was right up my alley. I loved the relationship between Violet and Edie, and I loved how Edie is using her gift to speak out about the role of women in that time.

Very clean and atmospheric versus paranormal horror romance. Written well, and YA appropriate, but missed my Cassandra Clare love-triange

The summary for this book sounded intriguing, but to me at least, it fell a bit flat. Plus, despite the addition of the women’s suffragette plotline, and Edie seeming to have the “strong woman who doesn’t need a man” personality, she sure wound up with the annoying reporter by the end!

I honestly don't know the how or why I picked this book up, but I'm glad I did! Historical fiction, paranormal activities, a dabbling of feminist thought, AND an enemies meetcute to lovers? Plus there's writing style that doesn't get in its own way. This was a good time.
