I think the hype for this book meant I went into it expecting more. There was elements that needing more fleshing out. Plus I went into thinking there'd be more talk of the gods, more talk of magic and it ended up being a background element rather than at the forefront. The romance element was absolutely fine and I had no issues with Iris and Roman, it's just that I expected the fantasy element to work alongside it rather than behind it.

I'll probably read the next book though, I hope we get more magic!
