I have mixed feelings. I felt the writing was strong, but my perhaps the biggest issuenwas structural– or rather, in regards to time. I didn't feel like the amount of time that passed actually did pass. I was often thrown off, because it says a year has passed and it read to me like a few months.

Another thing that nagged on me, was the question of Nathan's charm. He's constantly described as charming, but I struggle to see it.

In terms of the story at large, it was thoughtful and contradictory, very much an interesting book.

This was confusing, I was "skimming" through the paragraphs but I just didn't want to hear about everything in depth. It was just weird and random, Olivia is the dumbest fucking thing I've seen, the fuck you saying thank you for repeatedly?and eve for sticking around these two odd people for more than a year, its just weird nothing more to it. Moral of the story they're all cheats and pathetic, that's what I can draw from this ludicrous book. It had absolutely no plot or whatsoever, first time I actually end up feeling weird about a book or even subtle hate and disappointment.

the book description calls itself “thought provoking” and is supposed to explore ideas around womanhood and sexuality, but at the core of it all this is a book about two queer women who somehow fall into a relationship with a basic, married white man….. and that’s really it. unfortunately all the takes about nathan, and eve and olivia’s relationship with him, are basic and uninteresting, although the prose makes it seem like they’re supposed to be groundbreaking perspectives.
