Reads like it is Doctorow's dissertation. The whole philosophy he has been developing is outlined here.
This is a very well thought out and researched and pretty depressing book. Corporate control over so much of our lives is something that has happened for a lot of reasons, but it's all happened pretty quickly, and very very very efficiently.
Doctorow is a good writer and has more than enough knowledge first hand of the nature of the problem and of the tech. It's very refreshing to see a tech expert, full of Silicon Valley insider positioning so thoroughly rejecting Blockchain and bitcoin related stuff.
Still, the solutions look like a long way off this week.
