First, make sure you have read the first book or you will be confused.

Second, Kinsey and Benoni's story is one that is so full of emotions and discovery. You will see redemption, becoming who you are, acceptance of your needs, and so much more in this story. Be prepared for an emotional ride so have tissues near by. But the tears are balanced by the joy and heat.

This is Nora Phoenix at her best.

I really disliked this book. It takes the story of Rafe and Connell (to the point that Rafe and Connell actually show up in this book) and retells it but in a way that's really really really repetitive and dull. I think Nora Phoenix wanted to write a story about religion and addiction and didn't get a very good handle on a plot around it. Also, I'm starting to lose it over the very stilted way her characters speak to each other. There's not a whole lot of conflict and I was just bored, and to be honest I skipped over the sex scenes. If you're bored by kinky sex scenes something is wrong. I'm not the biggest fan of daddy kink books but I've liked Nora Phoenix before but I'm losing steam on her.

The strong religious themes are still not my favorite. The Daddy/Boy age gap stuff was great.

While the first of this duet was focused on Kinsey’s past, addiction recovery, healing from religious trauma, and accepting his life as a gay man, this one is focused on his relationship with Benoni and forgiveness. Closure with everyone from his past. And it’s just done so so well. More than once I shed tears over how far Kinsey had come. And his sexy relationship with Benoni was just the icing on the cake. I absolutely adored these two books. I adore these men. I honestly could read more from them.
