I really loved this! And I love Instagram for showing me books I never would have found elsewhere lol. This was right up my alley when it comes to horror. Gore! My favorite. Dismemberment, cannibalism, torture, blood, perfect.

The only thing that would have made this 5 stars for me was if there was no supernatural element to it. And the Webb family wasn't... backwoods cannibalistic crazy enough for me, personality wise. They seemed too normal? I'm not sure how else to explain it. But other than that this was fantastic! Can't wait to read more from this author.

I really enjoyed this book! Its VERY similar to House of 1000 Corpse which is why I decided to read it. But I'm docking a star because it was maybe a little too much like House of 1000 Corpse to where I knew everything that was about to happen down to how "grandpa" looked and where he "lived". But over all still ever enjoyable and quick to read!
*pro-tip* listen to Rob Zombie while reading this! Adds that much more to it!

Okay, this was all my fault. I should have stopped listening when the word 'cannibal' come up, but I didn't.

Uninspired, with your usual backwoods family (although yes, I'll give you that it has a different twist to it), and with a lot of gore and torture porn in it, this is not my kind of story.

Hannibal Hills does a very good job with the narration, though.

I will take a respite on horror stories, now. I need to bleach my brain *laughs*

Enjoyed

I really enjoyed reading this book when I first started it it gave me Wrong Turn vibes which I wish it stuck too a little more. Overall it took an interesting turn and who I thought would survive did.

This was a great break from some dry reading and just the sort of summertime splatter I'd wanted. I'll review this further on my YouTube series, and look forward to more Mountford.
