I thought this might be a fun chick lit kind of light book. However, it was as though the author was trying too hard to have a light book with a slightly more serious story. It didn't really work all that well, in my opinion, although the characters are interesting.

Fun fact: The writer is Boris Johnson's sister.

Although an easy read it was not interesting enough for me to not put down and go and do something else or check my phone every couple of chapters.

Like many other reviews have said, there really wasn’t a difference between the two narrators and I sometimes had to check who’s point of view I was reading from.

Good enough to pass some time, but not one that I would recommend to anyone unfortunately.

I liked this book. It reminded me of other Brit Lit that I have enjoyed in the past like Bridget Jones, although the characters aren't as well developed as in those books. I found that the ending was a little rushed. It made me want to see what living in Notting Hill was really like, although I could never afford to do so in real life.

So, I was expecting something like Sophie Kinsella or Marian Keyes, you know, fluffy chick lit' but actually well written and very funny, even moving at times.
This wasn't it.

It took me absolutely forever to finally get the tiniest interest in the characters. Besides, nothing really ever seems to happen. The writing is okay-ish at best, and as for fun, it's just not there.

I still finished it and all right, the last 100 pages were less boring than the rest but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

One positive remark: there's a French character who uses a lot of French words/sentences whenever she speaks and those dialogues are actually written in correct French without spelling/grammar mistakes. I shouldn't be so surprised about this but it surely doesn't happen often in English/American books so well done for that Ms. Johnson.

I know rich people like this and can appreciate some jabs but the onslaught of brand-name-dropping got tiresome right quick. More enjoyable is Crazy Rich Asians.

A bit dull and repetitive.
