I guess I’ve been living under a rock- because I thought this book was new (it’s from 2003) and I had no clue it had been made into a movie (with Leonardo dicaprio!)

This book was suspenseful and creepy, and the characters were so good. It felt slow-going, but always held its suspense and eeriness (probably since it is set on an island with a psychiatric hospital)…

The ending is a BANG. And I needed to go read reviews to figure out more about what all happened….

Definitely a great read. Now to decide if I should watch the movie (or if it will be just TOO scary for me!)

oh man, was this good. it literally kept me guessing until the last page, and even still, i feel like i need to look up a synopsis on the internet (or see the movie) get some of my thoughts sorted out.

I thought this was a good book. I'm curious as to how this was adapted to the screen since I have yet to see the movie. My question is about the ending....was it all a dream or is a continuation of screwing with his head?

Yes, yes, yes. This book is why I love thrillers. Another disturbing read, but this time with a twist and I loved every second. My only complaint is that I found the first few chapters to be confusing, but once you reach the end, you find out why. I re-read the beginning and all made sense. Now time to watch the movie.

I read this at the same time The DaVinci Code was making headlines and being read by everyone under the sun. I read this book first and was AMAZED that such a superior thriller didn't get nearly the attention. It's full of twisty turns and it's a quick, fun read.
