Juliette is one of the most self-pitying, boy-obsessed idiot I’ve ever read. She’s so busy wallowing in self-pity and she’s reckless and doesn’t think her actions through. For about 50% of the book, she mopes and whines about Adam and how she’s a monster and how everyone is mean and she doesn’t care about anyone except Adam. She spends all of her time ignoring everyone at Omega Point, refusing to interact with anyone that wasn’t him. She even forgot he has a little brother! It really irked me the way she yelled at Castle, a Black man, but then let Warner, a white boy, say whatever he wanted with little interruption. I do like Juliette finally getting over her self loathing and pity part thanks to best boy Kenji, who I love with all my heart. Warner, on the other hand, was kind of meh. The entire drama of Juliette/Aaron/Adam kind of overshadowed the plot. If Adam had just told her what was going on, a lot of things would’ve been easier.

Oh. My. God. Oh my god. oh my god ohmygodohmygodohmygod. Oh my god. This book, is, oh my god. So hard to put down. It gave me so much whiplash and secondhand-embarrassment but oh my god it was so good. It really got reveled in Omega Point, Warner, Juliette and Adam's relationship, Kenji and Juliette's relationship, why Adam is "immune" to Juliette's power.

It really showed all of Juliette's own guilt and agony and overwhelming sense of pain and dread. It gave so much more depth to the world-building(one of my favourite things) and we really got to see how The Reestablishment and Omega Point function. We saw a highly personal side of Warner and of Adam, we watched Kenji sacrifice a lot constantly and always constantly ground Juliette. He really is there to bring her back to reality and to focus while being a witty character.

All the characters really got some good substance in this book and everything was really shown in a harsh light at the potential of losing it all. it made it so much easier to empathize with the characters and realize why they do all that they do. We get substance from Castle, a little bit from James, Warner(??!?!!!?!), Kenji, Winston and Brendan, even Adam
(although he's a bit of a tool (and manipulative) for constantly trying to get back with Juliette when she really is acting in his best interest to stay away from him. he makes her constantly feel bad and forget her ideals just because he "loves her" and "has loved her for ten years." Honestly, both these brothers need to stop confessing their undying love to this girl when they hardly know her last name.

I really really loved Warner's development and how we got more light shed on him and why he's so merciless and brutal.
