Juliette is one of the most self-pitying, boy-obsessed idiot I’ve ever read. She’s so busy wallowing in self-pity and she’s reckless and doesn’t think her actions through. For about 50% of the book, she mopes and whines about Adam and how she’s a monster and how everyone is mean and she doesn’t care about anyone except Adam. She spends all of her time ignoring everyone at Omega Point, refusing to interact with anyone that wasn’t him. She even forgot he has a little brother! It really irked me the way she yelled at Castle, a Black man, but then let Warner, a white boy, say whatever he wanted with little interruption. I do like Juliette finally getting over her self loathing and pity part thanks to best boy Kenji, who I love with all my heart. Warner, on the other hand, was kind of meh. The entire drama of Juliette/Aaron/Adam kind of overshadowed the plot. If Adam had just told her what was going on, a lot of things would’ve been easier.

I’m loving reading Aaron and Juliette ‘s relationship evolve and I’m hoping she leaves Adam soon because Aaron is just better for her. She feels more confident around him and he ignites something in her.

literally the only thing preventing me from giving this book 5 stars is that Juliette got on my nerves a little bit. other than that i could not put this book down and have fallen in love with warner 🫣

A gripping and fast-paced sequel to Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me. I really enjoyed the continuation of the story in this book and loved all the different characters that we get to meet and know more.

I did find Juliette’s character rather wishy-washy throughout and Adam’s brooding just made me want to slap him but Kenji’s characterization and character arc as well as Warner’s re-introduction was brilliant and really enthralling.

I also loved that we got to see more of James and how he has adapted to life at Omega Point.

The action was non-stop and the constant revelations, red-herrings, and twists and turns left me reeling, from frustrated one moment to OMG the next! It was honestly brilliant and the writing style used to convey Juliette’s character is really well done and poetic. I loved it. Not as much as Shatter Me, but still an amazing book!
