“Tales you win, Heads you lose and the fighters of Tales never lose.”
Synopsis:
Grim...
A nickname given to me by my father, the Ruler of Tales, an East End underground fight club.
Tales you win. Heads you lose.
And the fighters of Tales never lose.
The men my father ruled were his faithful soldiers sworn to protect the club, him, me.
Until one day, his most loyal soldier, Beast, makes a decision that changes my story forever.
But this is no fairy tale and I don’t own a crown.
This is real life. Bloody, violent, and filled with alpha men who use their fists to settle every dispute.
And if the man who calls me Princess thinks he can break my heart and get away with it, he can think again.
Review:
This was a frustrating read! More so for the level of tension going on between Grim and Beast. They couldn’t be more perfect for each other. *chefs kiss*
As for the ending. @beapaigeauthor apparently doesn’t care if I get sleep tonight because I need to know what happens next!!!!

Holy angst Batman!
Kate and Beast are a beautiful, moody, angsty mess. She knows exactly what she wants. He doesn’t, until almost the end. You can cut their tension with childrens safety scissors! I cannot wait for book # 2 to come out so I can see how their story ends!

This book became a hate read because I refused to let this be my first dnf. I think mafia romances can and have been done really well. The fmc has so much internalized misogyny; which makes sense for what she’s surrounded by, but every other page just reeks of it. This book reads like a rough wattpad book. Slut this, whore that. The books plot is all over the place and most of the interactions didn’t really connect well at all. I read dark romance, mafia romance etc; but truly think this might be one of the worst books i’ve read in a while
DNF at 5%
This is.....yikes.
It's definitely not a stand alone i'm sure and i'm just not willing to read anymore similar writing to figure it out.
Established pretty quickly that the MC is 17 and not of consenting age and the love interest is not. talks about how the MMC is only with consenting adults and then within 2 pages he is being quite explicit with a 17yr old he's known for quite a bit. i'm sure that's in a back story and would only make it that much worse. i don't remember what exactly drew me into putting it on my TBR but it's very quickly off of it.
the writing is....words. not something that as an adult is anywhere near interesting. maybe if i was much much younger but then....maybe give a warning?? like hey this ain't okay.
idk how to explain it but cringe. the writing is not pleasant and the established dynamic did not have an opening of getting out of predatory territory. not worth my time.

Finally we get Grim and Beast's story and it will be told in two parts, can't tell you how much this makes me happy.
I mean we know their story was gonna be explosive and so worth the wait and it really was.
Tales You Win starts when Grim is seventeen years old and boy she has attitude. Beast is 23 years old and her father Enforcer. Carter who is Grim's father really is a nasty piece of work, absolutely hate him.
The push between Grim and Beast is so tense, in such a hot way. I just love them. I honestly can't tell you how much I loved this book. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.
This book was everything I wanted and more and I can't wait for book 2.

The Story We All Have Been Waiting For!
When I say Bea Paige is a mastermind genius, she is literally a mastermind genius. She has done it again with Grim & Beast! I am already counting down the days and have her TikTok on high alert for spoilers for book two! I am so glad I have Amazon Kindle Subscription because I already pre-ordered the next book. I have a series Bea Paige obsession but like who can blame me….I read the book in less than a day. I really tried to slow myself down but I couldn’t do that with this book. I wanted more and more and more.
This book provides so much detail and background of Grim and Beast. You get nuggets throughout the other books, but you can just tell in this book you are going to go for a ride. I have always respected Grim and I thought she had a heart of gold. She was always seen as this badass boss bitch and it is nice to see her grapple with being that with her compassionate and feminine side. I think as women we often have been told we can’t be both, but the female body is power. We can be smart, beautiful, lethal, and compassionate to the ones we love.
I knew Beast was a big softie underneath his tough exterior, but man I learned a lot about him and I am sure there are a few rocks that still need to be unturned. I also love the fact that we get a look into Freed brothers' life and how they intertwine with Grim and Beast.
It is so nice when characters from other book series are sprinkled throughout the other books. Bea does that very well. I kind of like to think of her as the Marvel of book authors because it is a skill that cannot be taught to thread a perfect web of characters and continue to build a universe that you feel like you can step into.
All I can say is that if you have not read any of the other Bea Paige books, you better get yourself a few days off and binge-read. Hop on the Bea Paige train and never get off!
