Super wild & confusing. It’s a fun read if you don’t take it so seriously

This is my second time reading this. The first? I dipped out after the first chapter and condemned this as a a bad book with a narrator who’s ‘not like other girls’.

I was the one thinking I was not like other girls! I had part of the story spoiled for me and I knew I had to revisit it. After the first chapter, I was hooked and could not put it down.

Is the plot perfect? No. I have a good few questions and I’m still trying to wrap my head around things. But it keeps you interested. Every page was like being allowed another lick of your favourite snack, and I was definitely full by the end of it!

Dark, funny, and a story that will confuse you as much at it coairvates you. I know this has a mixed response as a book, but I loved it.

this is a book where i definitely see the vision, and i think the vision was executed very well… but the vision was not for me. the “twist” (is it supposed to be a surprise? i don’t even know) was not super shocking. then it just ended.

a good book if you want to read confusing prose and feel disoriented!

“We asked Fern at the magic store what’s a good incense to burn if you’re more of a bitch.” “Like if you’re a bitch in the best way imaginable?” “Or if you’re just a bitch.”

I always eat up feminine rage and feminine friendship and feminine love and this was an explosive intersection of the three!!
the whole “ava was actually a swan” twist felt sort of thrown in but maybe I was also flying through the ending so I didn’t let it sink in enough?
definitely requires a reread at some point
