Creepy, lusty, bunny?

Vivid characters? Yes!
Unreliable narrator? Yes!
Strange and unholy happenings in a friendship group? Yes! Yes!

The theme of loneliness in this book was heart aching and gripping, and shown in ways I’ve never come across before. It was a struggle to put it down to sleep!

I’m not sure I always understood (or even liked) our protagonist, but her unsettling and unrelenting university experience was now mine too, and I wasn’t going to let her go it alone.

Very dark interesting story. Very metaphorically written - which can be hard to follow at times. I absolutely did not expect the twist at the end.

I was impressed by the writing style of the author, but certain elements of the plot fell flat for me. We never really learn much about the main character and her motivations behind the friendships she forms.

We also never learn anything about how the bunny rituals work - how/why. It's an odd thing to keep mysterious and that felt dissatisfying to me.

Such disorienting world building! I felt swept up in the confusion, chaos and blurred reality throughout reading it, so much so that I was thinking about this book like it was my real life and my real friends. The satirization of academia paired with the stark class division was funny in an uncanny way.

This book was "interesting". However, I legit never knew what was going on, and although the events that transpired were psychotic, like a literal fever dream. I kid you not sometimes I thought this book was just a product of Samantha's stories because in the book it mentions how dark and twisted Samantha's stories are (that was not the case). This book was really hyped so I read it, but I can't really say that I enjoyed my experience reading it. This story had no purpose. Like what was the point of anything that happened?!😭😂

Girls that get it, get it, girls that don't, don't.

And im the girl that doesn't get it.

Most of the book was me trying to figure out which character is which, where i am and what am i doing. As soon as the story picks up pace i immediately fell back again to the where, what, who, when.

Could be just me and my comprehensive skill but yeh, not a book for me.

i guess the part where they reveal ava is made up also is pretty interesting but again, i was too lost and confused to actually process anything

A bitingly satirical evaluation of female friendship and the echo chamber of academic elitism turns into a ‘what-the-f***’ horror-thriller that boggles just as it enthrals.
