3.5 more than 3.
The epilogue alone makes up for everything else!

The Mortal Instruments was a wild ride. My feelings oscillated between love and hate for the characters and plot. While I almost gave up on the series, City of Heavenly Fire brought me back.
Clary and Jace, initially my least favorite characters, grew on me. Their annoying traits subsided, replaced by a welcome maturity. The romance, drama, and angst thankfully took a backseat, allowing the action to shine.
City of Heavenly Fire delivered the action I craved, perhaps even exceeding expectations. Despite occasional pacing issues inherent to a 700+ page book, I remained mostly engaged, devouring the final stretch in a flash.

City Of Heavenly Fire
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A fantastic end to the story. I really loved reading these books, and I’m slowly making my way through all of Cassie’s work.

This book took me a long time to read, simply because I did not want it end.
The Mortal Instruments series is one of my favorites and this addition does not disappoint! Ms. Clare is extremely talented at writing fighting scenes, which is a rare gift. While reading this book, I was moved to both tears and laughter. The characters are just as interesting as ever and they pull you in to their world. This was an excellent end to the series.

*eye roll*
This is the only thing I did through the whole book. It's like a TV Soup, I swear.
*sigh* One more book to go...
