A good book for any language nerds or therapy nerds out there. I say lovingly as I am both myself. If only everyone was.

The word alexithymia literally describes not having the words to give voice to your feelings. This book is a decent attempt at responding to alexithymia. It shares very poignant, nuanced insights into common words that we use (at least in English) to describe what we feel why. Sometimes, It gives new words to aid in the quest for self- discovery and analysis.

I listened to the audio of this read by the author and it was just amazing. It felt more like she was having a conversation with me, which was great. Such a quick listen, interesting ideas, and some great outside perspectives.

I see this one as more of a reference, an atlas just like she's saying, to reach for when you need help understanding and navigating the emotions you're facing.
